Junk-rassic Park

Last month, we took a nice drive on the country back roads about 40 miles from our little town. Sunny had to do an heating estimate, so we decided to combine the trip and have a nice afternoon together.

A few weeks earlier there had been a write-up in the paper about a retired farmer who is using his metal-working talents and his sarcastic wit to create fun and funky sculptures out of any and every kind of scrap he can get his hands on.

Thus Junk-rassic Park was born.

We found it even with the very poor directions given by the paper (dead-ends mean dead-ends not 4-way stops).
Junk-rassic Park is literally out in the middle of nowhere. There are around 50+ displays.

This young lady stood around 12 ft. tall.

There were probably 20 of these different sculptures standing around a circular fence. Pictured here is John Wayne, "Ike" and John El'weigh' (the best quarterback of all time).

Here is the farmer's witty take on Saddam and Osama bin laden.

You can see how big these were with Grace standing below this giraffe.

I really got a kick out of this one. Check out her goggle bra!

This pumpkin patch was on the way to Pueblo last Sat. It was so much more vibrant than my camera or this picture-taker could capture. Beautiful! That's Pike's Peak in the background.

After enhancing this pic, I like the way it really made the pumpkins pop and the dried 'feed' corn behind the pumpkin field is really neat.

It's All Goggle Bra Good!
