It doesn't take much to make me happy. Give me a garden-fresh tomato, a salt shaker and the back porch and I'm content. Just me and my tomato! We're at 7000 ft. in Flagstaff, AZ, so any attempts at growing fresh tomatoes or any other produce is challenging. Our 'fresh' produce is shipped in from CA or up from southern AZ. But fresh to me is picking it right off the vine, giving it a quick rinse and heading for the back porch. Which is exactly what I did the minute I arrived at my sister's home in Colorado Springs. They had the toms ready and waiting, fresh from their garden! Mmmm!

Sometimes it's the littlest things that bring the most contentment. Today, let's take our eyes off the huge problems that seem to hover over us like a black cloud and, instead, take a look at the seemingly unimportant things in our lives with a different eye--an eye of contentment, even if only for a moment.

...and be content with such things as ye have : for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5b kjv
(p.s. When we got home last Wednesday, we had 5 homes that needed to be cleaned by Friday. Wasn't my cup of tea to jump right back into work as I was hoping to have at least one day to regroup. That said, I've missed visiting with all of you. So I'm back and will have more time this week to get back into the blogging groove!)

It's All ME & MY TOMATO Good!

  1. I've missed you! :o)

I hope those maters were still a little warm from being on the vine....extra points for that. And you needed an icy Coke or Dr. Pepper to wash it down with. Yum!

    Happy new week!

    Love and hugs,

    Diane

  3. Since those were from our garden I know you weren't exagerating about the yummy taste. I love the acidy freshness of them and agree with diane that warm is better in this case. So happy you had a good time and looking forward to your moving here. Love, your little big sis.

  11. I'm with you on this. There aren't many things better than a ripe home grown tomato. I don't even need the salt on it. Love the scripture you quoted too.
