So! Moment At the Zoo

So, we're at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs taking a break in the Penguin house, resting on the benches and minding our own business. The penguin-keepers had drained the water and were sterilizing the exhibit, but we were told it would only take a few minutes to fill it back up. We decided to wait, since this was one of our favorites--watching the penguins frolic in the water.

In the meantime, we captured these adorable 'love birds' holding hands...

and here they are taking a little stroll...

and then SUDDENLY right before our virgin eyes (or at least our kiddos') this little G-Rated show turned into Sex Education 101 when our two little LOVE PENGUINS decided to begin FROLICKING in a horizontal position. (We didn't want to interrupt their private moment with pictures!)

HELLO! GET A NEST!

Ok...moving right along. Let's go see the Hippo's shall we?

It's All SO! Good!

  2. How funny! I probably would have blushed if I'd seen that.

Did you see the new Rocky Mountain Wildlife exhibit? We haven't been to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in a couple of years, but I'd like to see that new exhibit, and maybe ride the skyride.

  6. Hi Brenda,

Cute story and nice pictures. Get a Nest!!! I had to smile at that one. We have friends who have not been married for very long. For the first 2 or 3 years they were married they were just loving all over each other in public. It was a little embarrassing. One day I laughed and told them - GET A ROOM!!! They just laughed at that and kept right on smooching, cooing and holding hands.
