UPDATE (9:00 pm):

I would like to put out a prayer request for my sis, Reva. She was admitted to the hospital at noon. She won't know the results for the tests she's had to take today, but she does know her kidney creatinine level is very high which is not a good thing. The Dr. will be in tomorrow to discuss the results and where to go from here when just 2 weeks ago her levels were pretty normal. For those who might not know, Reva had a kidney transplant 4 years ago. (Her husband was a perfect match, but that beautiful story is for another time!) She has other ongoing medical issues she deals with on a daily basis. As many times as she has been in and out of the hospital the past 3 years--at one point we almost lost her, and that time she was in for 90 days--she's pretty savvy and knows the questions to be asking and how far to push to get things done! I'll keep everyone up-to-date as soon as I find out anything. Thanks for your prayers once again.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day, just the four of us, relaxing, eating...

...doing the tryptophine coma/sleep thing, then eating some more for dessert and hanging out watching Christmas movies. (And since our little energizer bunny, Grace, isn't affected by tryptophine in the least, she was still spry enough to take the picture!)

I never, never begin decorating for Christmas before Dec. 1, but this year for some reason it's different, and I don't know why. So here's part of my snowman collection I put up last night.

(my favorite 2-ft snowman plate set)

The Christmas tree you see in the background (1st pic) was one our neighbors set outside by the trash when they moved in next door. RECYCLE...HELLO! It stands 5 ft. tall and is one of those skinny ones with the natural bark and has a very sturdy metal stand. And, yes, Grace and I decorated it the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. What's up with that? But the fresh tree won't get put up until mid-December. Still hanging on to a little tradition anyway.
As for today being black Friday...I decided I didn't want to get up while it was still 'black' outside and venture out into the crowds. What about you? Find any good deals out there today? My daughter, brave soul that she is, did find a good deal on 3 pairs of shoes for $5.00 total at a GOOB sale.

It's all Happy Good!

  9. Will keep your sister in prayer. God has certainly touched her son, and I trust Him to do the same for her.
I love your snowmen. I also have a snowman collection, and it just keeps growing every year, because I can't resist the cuteness of the new ones that ocme out each year. I no longer have room to display or store them, though!
Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving. This was the first year for us not to be at home. We had dinner at our church with church family and some of the homeless people we serve thru our food ministry.
And as for Black Friday? I absolutely REFUSE to go anywhere near a store. In fact, both hubs and I stayed in our pj's all day yesterday, and never went out of the house! It felt sooo good.
Well, happy Christmas decorating and have a great Sunday.
    :) Brenda
