"Trusting in Him
is not the easiest thing to do,
but it's the most necessary thing to do."
--Chelsie Jo

Chels.

She's 21.

And she's moving out next week.

It's happening.

I am experiencing mixed emotions
.
about this transition.

I'm really happy for Chels.

She's an awesome woman of God

who is
.
ready--really ready.

I mean, seriously, look what she said.

I think she's 'got' it.

My baby's all grown up.

And I'm sad.

Sad because I have
.
arrived at that

inevitable era in motherhood

where I really have to let go.

Am I ready--really ready?

Yes.

because

"Trusting in Him

is not the easiest thing to do,

but it's the most necessary

thing to do."
.
It's All YIKES Good!

  1. I'll be facing this with one child, possibly two this year. I know it's going to be hard -- I just can't imagine not having them home! But I know God will give grace (to us both) because He designed it that way.

  2. (((HUG)))

Obviously I've never been on your end of it, but I know that my relationship with my mom grew sweeter since I've been away. It's just different.

  4. That's a great quote. I totally understand about having them leave home, but you've done a great job. Just to let you know...even when they move out they still need you.

  6. I hope this transition will be a smooth one for both of you. Your daughter seems very mature and wise for her age, that's something to find peace in for sure. Hang in there! :)

  7. It may not be easy, but it will be okay, I promise - for both of you. Speaking as a Mama who's been there, my friend.

    Much Love,

  8. I am sitting here, in the dark, crying my eyes out.

I could not have asked for a better mother. It's because of you and your love and your friendship that has helped me become the person that I am. I love you so much!

  9. It's so hard to let go! It's hard to remember they belong to God, and are only ours "on loan" for a little while. She seems like such a lovely and godly young woman, and even though you'll always worry about her, you can rest sure that she's in His hands and He will always be with her.
Have a great weekend. :) Brenda
P.S. I will be praying for your sister, too.

  12. You're sending out your arrow. You've pointed her in the right direction and you release her. The Lord knows and sees her destination. His breath will guide her. Our hearts are with you as this amazing time finds your home.

  13. This is such a hard thing to do, but when you know it is right and you trust God and trust your child, it is a beautiful thing actually. I'm so glad both of my kids live close to us though. It makes it much harder if they are far away.
Blessings to you and your daughter.
