The Animated Butterfly

I can't remember whose blog it was I was reading recently about their thoughts on girl's clothing that has sayings or words plastered on the hineys. I'm of the opinion that it's not appropriate no matter how "Hot" or how much of an "Angel" one might be. The following incident just confirmed that opinion more than ever.
.
Grace and I were walking behind a young adult woman heading into the library. Now I'm not one that makes a habit of looking at girls' behinds, but her's definitely caught my attention.

There, plastered from 'cheek' to cheek'--and I'm not meaning to be cheeky ;)--was a huge outline of an embroidered butterfly.

To her credit her britches weren't tight but rather baggy...

...which would explain why when she walked the body of the butterfly would disappear into the valley of the unmentionable and back out again thus making the wings move each time!

Bless her heart.
.
Go figure!

It's All Cracked Me Up Good!

  2. TMI, Thanks for the visual there Brenda. I'll never look at butterflys the same.

That is funny. Yes, I rant about that one with girl's clothing. It's one of my pet peeves.

  3. Oh ma'am, I am SO glad you brought this up!!! For YEARS I taught a purity seminar at our Teen Camp each summer. I can TELL you the writing/butterflies on girls backsides is an awful idea. I will even be quite plain and blunt about why - - - - guys eyes WANT to look there, so no matter what the words/figures actually are, they are saying 'LOOK AT ME!!!' to every male they pass. The honorable, godly males will force themselves to look away. The others - - - - - - -

  4. You are so funny!!!!! I am grinning from ear to ear. I wish you'd have had your camera. Don't you know us serious bloggers are always suppose to have our camera handy for just such masterpieces?

  5. Joy - Believe it or not, that's exactly how I felt. Every time I see a butterfly now...

Keetha - Which is exactly the motive behind the manufacturer's thoughts anyway. The word 'purity' has been replaced with the word 'provacative'. Sad.

Susan - I did have my phone but couldn't whip it out in time. And I didn't have the courage to ask "Mind if I take a picture of your backside for my blog?" ;)

  6. I totally pictured that and then I laughed.

  7. It is funny -- but kind of sad, too. Someone needs to videotape her from behind and show her what she looks like -- then again, sadly, some girls want to draw attention there. I agree with Keetha.

  8. Don't get me started. WHY OH WHY would we invite the world to read our daughter's butts? Seriously!

Of course Diva daughter has one pair of shorts that were hand me downs from a cousin that say "Surf" but she wears them for PJs. And we refrain from reading them. :)

  9. OK, and I had to tell you that I am clicking away with Dolly Parton singing "Life is Like a Butterfly" in my echoing cranium.

  10. Now I think I've heard it all. LOL

  11. Jenn - So right! It's a sad thing to say but to the world, modesty is a thing of the past.
I'll have to refresh my memory on the Dolly Parton song.

Charlotte - Oh, I'm sure something else will come along that will shock the dog out of us again!

  13. I don't tend to like all that writing across backsides either. Do girls know this makes them look... how shall I say..."fatter"? But I do so love butterflys very much and I may have to borrow your beautiful picure at some time if that would be ok?

  18. Mer - All I could do is roll my eyes and shake my head.

Memaw - I never thought of it that way, but you're right, it does make a hiney look bigger.

God My Savior Forever - Welcome to my blog, and my sense of humor warped as it is! And thanks for your kind words!

Ronnica & Jess - Gave me something to write about anyhoo!

  20. I probably would have actually gotten out the phone and snapped a pic of that one.

I've seen some pretty crazy ones in my time...but none that actually move with the body.

  21. You are way too witty, Brenda. Gee whilligers, what will they come up with (don't wanna know!) next!! I second the vote on the pet-peeve from Joy on the girls clothing.

  22. Maxine & Liz - a video wouldn't been better than a pic, get the full animation! Still, I didn't have the presence of mind to think of it.

Kathy - Ya, I don't want to know either, what they'll come up with next. Scary!

  23. I dont agree with the gilrs clothing having writing across the rear-end. Little girls are being taught to dress much older and to dress for attention not modesty.
My kids wont be wearing anything with writing across their butt!!!

  24. Brenda,

As usual I laughed at the site you brought up. Bet boys loved following her around town.
