Family Through My Eyes

A to Z Badge 2012 (1)

family

I love this quote because it fits my family, especially the last line—No matter what.

I was raised in a yours/mine/ours family.

My step-dad (I only call him that now for clarity because he’s Dad) had a daughter and two sons.  Their mother and her sister were killed in a car accident.

My mom had two sons and a daughter (that would be me!).  Our dad died when I was two from medical issues.

Dad and Mom were married (I turned 5 shortly after) and they gave us another brother.

With me so far?!

RevaJackJimboJeffBrendaJonJerry—The Cline Clan we were called.  We blended well together into one family.

This is my sis and I with our cousin in the middle.

This was all of us right after Mom and Dad got married and before the ‘ours’ came along!

My dad loved us as his own.  We were welcomed by Grandpa, Grandma, uncles, aunts and cousins.  Dad had eight brothers and sisters, so there were lots of cousins which meant lots of fun!  (I’ve enjoyed reconnecting with some of them on Facebook!)

After we became adults our Mom and Dad divorced.  That didn’t change anything (other than the obvious), because we were family.

We are family…

No matter what.

It’s All Good!

I’m also participating in the A-Z Challenge here.

  3. I love this one. I wish I had the gumption and drive to do such a challenge - alas, I can't even get one a week out - my brain seems to be on a hiatus of some sort!
