There's still time to join in the fun!
I'm so glad you've stopped by!
We live in Flagstaff, Arizona at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. For those who think that Arizona has only one season--HOT--be informed that in Northern, AZ, we enjoy the four beautiful seasons. The advantage is that when we are freezing cold in the winter, we have only to drive 2 1/2 hours south to enjoy warm, mild weather for a day.
I am happily married to my husband, Sunny for going on 27 years and together we have two gorgeous daughters: Chelsie Jo, 20 and Grace Marie, almost 7. I've have the honor of being a stay-at-home mom as well as home educating both of our girls. We've academically finished with one and are starting again with the second one. What a journey that has been!
I have a wonderful relationship with my Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ. As stated in my 'About Me' section, if it weren't for Him I wouldn't be who I am. He is the Hope in a world where there is no hope.
I enjoy second-hand shopping, yardsales, thrifting--whatever you like to call it. I like to look at things with a different eye, repurposing, changing and decorating with items in a way that is different than the purposes for which they were intended. I especialy love one-of-a-kind of things--stuff that wasn't picked up at the local superstore that 10 or more people have (on my block alone)!
I enjoy being frugal. I love the challenge of finding quality bargains be it groceries, clothing, furniture or what have you. Two mottos I have: 1.) Being frugal is NOT being cheap--there is a Big difference, and 2.) One should rarely have to buy ANYTHING retail.
Oh, and have I mentioned I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE!
I'm really getting into this blogging thing! No, it's not an addiction...Am I in denial? NOOO, I'm not ready for the 13*-step BA program (Blogger's Anonymous)! *Pun for all of the Thursday Thirteen participants!

Enjoyed your post. I like a lot of the same things you like, Brenda, except for the dark chocolate. I love milk chocolate though. Making me hungry just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI plan on joining the block party.
Hi. Stopped by for the party. We have some of the same interests - I too married almost 27 years, I love chocolate and I Love Lucy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at all the parties. Hope to see you at my place.
Hello! It's nice to meet another homeschooling, frugal mom! My kids are spaced pretty far apart too (also not necessarily by choice, but by God's grace!) We have a bio daughter who is 14 and 2 adopted children (7 and 2).
ReplyDeleteStop by my party!

Thanks for stopping by. I Love Lucy also. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my blog about your 2ndary IF. It's always good to hear stories from "the other side." It seems we have something else in common...I am a thrifty shopper myself. I should tell you about my shopping trip yesterday. I went to Old Navy, Sears & Penneys. They were having huge sales & I ended up getting 5 sweaters, a dress, a top & a jacket (total $280 value) for $37!!!! That's less than the retail cost of the dress alone! Sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I love yours- so bright and cheerful. I love garage sales and thrift store hunting too.
ReplyDeleteWe have so much in common its like I know you. Loved the party especially the yummy dark chocolate. 27 yrs. going on 28 for us too. Have a great party with loads of people.
