100 Things About Me (51-75)

Gorgeous African Sunrise. My daughter took this the morning they went on a Safari. Looking closely you can make out silouettes of gazelles grazing in the pasture.

An African Christian boarding school. The kiddos were so attentive.

Isn't she adorable?

51. My favorite saying: Right is right even if no one is doing it and wrong is wrong even if everyone's doing it.

52. Don't like getting into an unmade bed. If I haven't made my bed that morning, it will get made before I get in at night.

53. Bothers me when doors or cupboards are left cracked open.

54. Favorite restaurants: Chili's, Olive Garden, Picazzo's (gourmet pizza) & Kachina (local Mexican food).

55. Like to fish but can't hold the still-squirming fish with my bare hands.

56. BUT it doesn't bother me to put a squirming worm on a hook or gut a dead fish bare-handed. Crazy, I know.

57. Don't like having to do the same things twice.

58. When I was 8 or 9, while waiting for my piano lesson, I got bit by a 3-legged dog and had to have stitches in my arm. Ruined my Easter dress as well.

59. Which reminds me of the three-legged dog who hobbled into a bar one day and said: "I'm looking for the man who shot my Paw"! Just humor me ok?

60. Husband and daughter went to Kenya for a combination graduation gift for her as well as a Pastor's conference. The above pics my daughter took. Sometime I'll share more. Awesome.

61. My TIVO and Ipod Shuffle are right up there with sliced bread.

62. When I was thirteen my family took a 3-week trip from CO to CA and back. Seeing the sites along the way. I thought it was so cool to get out of school a week early.

63. While on that trip I turned 13 in Monterey, CA. That day we went on a deep-sea fishing trip. The waves were pretty choppy so, needless to say, most of us kiddos spent the trip down below losing our cookies or should I say birthday cake!

64. Went camping in CO for two weeks straight. And we're not talking trailers. We're talking tents, outdoor cooking, doing your business behind a big rock with a white flag sticking out when 'occupied'--stuff like that. Had a blast! Don't cotton too much to tents anymore. My sis, Reva, has a nice trailer that she lets me and the girls stay in. And we even have a peepee teepee to do our business in!

65. Had both my girls safely and comfortably at home.

66. Won an all-expense paid trip to Disneyland. 3 days 2 nights.

67. Sunny and I pastored a small church in TX for a few years. Chels was born there.

68. When I was 11 or so I broke one thumb and sprained the other jumping on the trampoline. Can you guess what I landed on?

69. Love Starbuck's Double Chocolate Frapacchino in the summer and Fat-free super-extra-hotter than heck--make me sign a disclaimer so I can't sue ya if I spill it on me--hot, hot chocolate in the winter. Can you stand the excitement?!

70. Know how to play the piano and the flute by ear.

71. Was in a car accident a couple years ago. 2 men in a truck ran a red light and were hit by another vehicle which then caused them to hit me. Drunk. At noon. They left the scene of the accident on foot. Didn't bother to see if anyone was injured or not. Thankfully none of us were hurt other than bad whiplash. To shorten up a really long saga, they got off, but the driver did go to prison on unrelated charges. Drunks have no business being on the streets.

72. Like reading in bed at night. It's my quiet time.

73. I'm a Princess of the Most High God! I love saying that!

74. Water is my favorite beverage to drink. Then Dr. Pepper.

75. Love the Sonic, Geico caveman, Ocean Spray and Alltel commercials (WiizZARD!...oops, my bad!)

It's All 100 THINGS (51-75) Good!

  3. I didn't see the pics either. Hopefully they will show up another time. Your 100 Things list is so fun. I'm finding we have lots in common. Like #53 - my kid leaves drawers and cupboards just a little bit shy of being closed all the way, Every. Single. Time. Drives me absolutely nuts! Anyhow, I'll be looking forward to the last 25 things about you. Hope your week is going well. :) Brenda

  4. Okay - I so understand No. 52 - I'm the exact same way. Isn't that funny. I also love my TiVo - I don't have an iPod but I'm sure it would thrill me.

  5. Great list, Brenda! "I'm looking for the man who shot my Paw!" I laughed out loud!!

I'd love to hear more about #65 sometime. That's my plan as well. (in November) It's always good to hear other good experiences.

    Have a great day,
    Sammy

  7. Being bit by a 3-legged dog is pretty humorous. If that had been me, my family would have teased me mercilessly.

I was just in Monterey, whale-watching. I was surprised at how many we saw! I'll be posting pictures soon.

Water then Dr. Pepper...are you sure it's not the other way around? I knew there was a reason I liked you!

  10. Hi, Brenda
The photos are awesome. My fave is of the little girls in the bottom pic. Our ladies group supports an orphanage in India, so I have a 'soft spot' for the little ones.
It is a little tricky doing the slideshow thingy, but once you figure it out, I think it's actually a little better than blogger. At least for me. When I put pics up with Blogger, I dont' see them until I post and then view it. With the Picturetrail, you get to see what you're doing and choose the order and pick your presentation. Give it a try.
    Have a great weekend.

  11. Ok, sis, you are taking my thunder! All your talk about camping and fishing and the California trip. NOT! but it did bring back lot's of memories. Sure glad I had a sister like you to share all those experiences with. What a fun childhood at vacation time especially.
Oh, I found a great book about lefty's at my doctors office. I almost stole it for you. HA, wouldn't that have been grand. What an example. It was tempting though.
    love ya,
    your little big sis,
