Ronnica graciously passed this on to me. Thank you!
The Lemons into Lemonade Award

Put the logo on your blog or post.
Nominate at least 10 who show great Attitude and/or Gratitude.
Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
Let them know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received this award.

(This award is being passed around quite a lot, and I've seen it on several of the bloggers I'd nominate, so I'm going to give them to a handful that haven't already received the award, that I know of.)

So, without further adieu--I've always wanted to say that--the Making Lemonade out of Lemons award goes to the following:

Of course #1 in my book is my sister, Reva, who has had it very rough especially the last couple of months being in and out of the hospital twice. I'm happy to say she's home now, thank God!
Her blog title says it all: Gifting Each Day. She always looks at the bright side. One example--a couple years ago we came within hours of losing her. After she made it over the hump, she remained in the hospital for 90 some days. I will never forget talking to her the first time on the phone after I got back home and she was 'out of the woods'. She was encouraging me. She felt bad that we had to go through it watching her almost die. Can you believe that? Here she is laying in her sick bed, doctors are telling us the next few hours will tell us one way or the other, someone even called the minister 'just in case', and when she comes to, she's encouraging us. She's 'gifting' us! Talk about making Lemonade! And that was the best Lemonade I've ever tasted! I love you Sis!

#2 goes to Amber (Reva's daughter). My niece is right up there with Reva. She is a wonderful daughter. Every time my sister was in the hospital, she faithfully emailed everyone daily to let us know how she was doing. Then when Reva was out of the hospital (the 90-day time) she made a journal out of all the emails and presented it to Reva. I think it was a nice outlet for her as well. Amber has three beautiful kiddos (7, 4 and almost 1), she's a stay-at-home mom and home educates as well. I think she takes after her mother, don't you?

#3 goes to Memaw who has such a grateful heart and expresses it so well in her journaling.

#4: Tammy's birthday is today. Her most recent post is full of gratefulness. A great read.

#5: Frazzled Farm Wife. I enjoy reading about her life on the farm, and boy, her title describes it perfectly. Her husband recently had to have surgery, but life on the farm has to go on!

It's All LEMONADE Good!

UPDATE Jan. 25:
My niece, Amber, just gave this award back to me! How kind is that? Thank you, Amber.

Susan gave me this cute award. Thank you! To claim my fabulous prize of four cyber coffee cups full of mysterious liquid, I must answer the following questions and provide links to my unsuspecting victims:

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? Actually, I don't at the moment. I did have a girlfriend pop into my life in my 20's and just as quickly pop back out. Actually she moved and we just didn't keep in touch.

2. What do you value most about your friends? Camaraderie, can talk about anything, if distance separates us, we can pick up where we left off without missing a beat.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? Some, but mostly my husband, Sunny.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? Just some good, clean gab time!

Since there are 4 cups of liquid, I'm keeping one for myself and passing the others along to....

1. My Sis, Reva
2. Birthday Girl, Diane
3. Fun Friend, Jessica

'100 Things About Me' Final 25

This is my final 25 of my '100 Things About Me' post. I'm now aware that technically this was to be done at the time of my 100th post...so I do things a little differently, ok?! You've heard the saying: Light's on but nobody's home? Well, in my case I'm home but my lights are on a timer!...sometimes they're on sometimes they're off...takes me awhile to catch on! Thank God for God, because, seriously, I would be nothing without Him! I've dedicated these last 25 to 'Who I Am in Christ' which is just as much a part of me as the other things I've posted. I'm so grateful for Christ in my life. HE is my LIGHT. (If you need to catch up on my previous posts which are in increments of 25, they are here and here and here.)

76. I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the Blood--Ephesians 1:7--In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace...I am alive with Christ--Ephesians 2:5--...even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)...
77. I am free from the law of sin and death--Romans 8:2--For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
78. I am far from oppression, and fear does not come near me--Isaiah 54:14--In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
79. I am born of God, and the evil one does not touch me--I John 5:18--We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
80. I am holy and without blame before Him in love--I Peter 1:16--because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy Ephesians 1:4--just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love...
81. I have the mind of Christ--Philippians 2:5--Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.--I Corinthians 2:16--For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
82. I have the peace of God that passes all understanding--Philippians 4:7--and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
83. I have the Greater One living in me; greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world--I John 4:4--You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
84. I have received the gift of righteousness and reign as a king in life by Jesus Christ--Romans 5:17--For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
85. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.--Philippians 4:13
86. I am God’s child, for I am born again--I Peter 1:23--having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.
87. I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works--Ephesians 2:10--For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
88. I am a new creature in Christ--2 Corinthians 5:17--Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
89. I am a joint-heir with Christ--Romans 8:17--and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
90. I am more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me--Romans 8:37--Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
91. I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony--Revelation 12:11--And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
92. I am a partaker of His divine nature--2 Peter 1:3,4--as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
93. I am an ambassador for Christ--2 Corinthians 5:20-- Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
94. I am part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people--I Peter 2:9--But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light...
95. I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ--2 Corinthians 5:21--For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
96. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit; I am not my own--I Corinthians 6:19--Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
97. I am the head and not the tail; I am above only and not beneath--Deuteronomy 28:13--And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
98. I am alive with Christ--Ephesians 2:5--...even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)...
99. I am firmly rooted, built up, established in my faith and overflowing with gratitude--Colossians 2:7rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
100. It is not I who lives, but Christ lives in me--Galatians 2:20--I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
oops! 101. and one more that slipped my mind about me...I'm left-handed. Remember the lights on nobody's home thing?! Geewiz!

100 Things About Me (51-75)

Gorgeous African Sunrise. My daughter took this the morning they went on a Safari. Looking closely you can make out silouettes of gazelles grazing in the pasture.

An African Christian boarding school. The kiddos were so attentive.

Isn't she adorable?

51. My favorite saying: Right is right even if no one is doing it and wrong is wrong even if everyone's doing it.

52. Don't like getting into an unmade bed. If I haven't made my bed that morning, it will get made before I get in at night.

53. Bothers me when doors or cupboards are left cracked open.

54. Favorite restaurants: Chili's, Olive Garden, Picazzo's (gourmet pizza) & Kachina (local Mexican food).

55. Like to fish but can't hold the still-squirming fish with my bare hands.

56. BUT it doesn't bother me to put a squirming worm on a hook or gut a dead fish bare-handed. Crazy, I know.

57. Don't like having to do the same things twice.

58. When I was 8 or 9, while waiting for my piano lesson, I got bit by a 3-legged dog and had to have stitches in my arm. Ruined my Easter dress as well.

59. Which reminds me of the three-legged dog who hobbled into a bar one day and said: "I'm looking for the man who shot my Paw"! Just humor me ok?

60. Husband and daughter went to Kenya for a combination graduation gift for her as well as a Pastor's conference. The above pics my daughter took. Sometime I'll share more. Awesome.

61. My TIVO and Ipod Shuffle are right up there with sliced bread.

62. When I was thirteen my family took a 3-week trip from CO to CA and back. Seeing the sites along the way. I thought it was so cool to get out of school a week early.

63. While on that trip I turned 13 in Monterey, CA. That day we went on a deep-sea fishing trip. The waves were pretty choppy so, needless to say, most of us kiddos spent the trip down below losing our cookies or should I say birthday cake!

64. Went camping in CO for two weeks straight. And we're not talking trailers. We're talking tents, outdoor cooking, doing your business behind a big rock with a white flag sticking out when 'occupied'--stuff like that. Had a blast! Don't cotton too much to tents anymore. My sis, Reva, has a nice trailer that she lets me and the girls stay in. And we even have a peepee teepee to do our business in!

65. Had both my girls safely and comfortably at home.

66. Won an all-expense paid trip to Disneyland. 3 days 2 nights.

67. Sunny and I pastored a small church in TX for a few years. Chels was born there.

68. When I was 11 or so I broke one thumb and sprained the other jumping on the trampoline. Can you guess what I landed on?

69. Love Starbuck's Double Chocolate Frapacchino in the summer and Fat-free super-extra-hotter than heck--make me sign a disclaimer so I can't sue ya if I spill it on me--hot, hot chocolate in the winter. Can you stand the excitement?!

70. Know how to play the piano and the flute by ear.

71. Was in a car accident a couple years ago. 2 men in a truck ran a red light and were hit by another vehicle which then caused them to hit me. Drunk. At noon. They left the scene of the accident on foot. Didn't bother to see if anyone was injured or not. Thankfully none of us were hurt other than bad whiplash. To shorten up a really long saga, they got off, but the driver did go to prison on unrelated charges. Drunks have no business being on the streets.

72. Like reading in bed at night. It's my quiet time.

73. I'm a Princess of the Most High God! I love saying that!

74. Water is my favorite beverage to drink. Then Dr. Pepper.

75. Love the Sonic, Geico caveman, Ocean Spray and Alltel commercials (WiizZARD!...oops, my bad!)

It's All 100 THINGS (51-75) Good!

27. Almost 5'9" tall.

28. Fun and sometimes...ok...most of the time...have a warped sense of humor.

29. Love to laugh!

30. I'm a cryer...happy or sad...makes no difference.

31. And don't like being that way.

32. Enjoy cooking.

33. Love Mexican food best.

34. Some favorite authors: Bodie Thoene, Dee Henderson, Mary Higgins Clark (read Loves Music, Loves to Dance if you want the heebie jeebies scared out of you!)

36. Enjoy NCIS, Ace of Cakes, Crafter's Coast to Coast, Decorating Cents, Rachel Ray.

38. Like selling on Ebay.

39. All-time favorite movie is You've Got Mail.

40. Am understanding that God's opinions far outweigh man's opinions.

41. Have, unfortunately, lost some friends because of #40.

43. Don't hesitate to do curbside shopping...as long as I have my Groucho Marx glasses on!

44. Love the shabby chic look, but doubt I could get away with it throughout the whole house.

45. Working on at least getting my bedroom decorated in the shabby look.

46. Cookie dough is yummy!

47. Live at the base of the San Francisco Peaks in the Ponderosa pines. We've heard that this area is the largest stand of Ponderosa's in the world. Whether that's absolutely true, I don't know and I'm too tired right now to find out! So, don't quote me.

48. Favorite Reruns: Home Improvement, M*A*S*H*, Everybody Loves Raymond, I Love Lucy, to name a few.

49. Have been to the Grand Canyon several times, but never hiked down in. Not my cup of tea!

50. Never been to any states east of Texas.

I've been tagged by Southerner to give 6 non-important quirks or facts about myself.

("No, I'm not weird, I'm quirky...quirky and weird are two very different things". What movie is that from? Answer will be at bottom of post. Ok, people would probably consider me quirky AND weird!)

Here goes:

1. If I haven't made my bed in the morning it absolutely HAS to be made before I get in bed that night. I can't stand getting into an unmade bed. Now, I'm not talking comforter and extra pillows and such, just sheets and blankets. Quirky or weird?

2. Cantaloupe shoots my gag reflex into high gear. You know how when you were a kid you didn't eat some fruits or veggies, but later on enjoyed them? Well, not so with cantaloupe. I don't mind the smell. And I'll even serve it to the family (unlike liver which doesn't make it into the house). One day I decided to give it a try. I hadn't had a piece since I was a kid, so I thought maybe I'd outgrown the dislike for it. The funny thing was that it wasn't horribly bad when I popped a piece into my mouth. I started chewing and all of the sudden I started gagging and COULD NOT swallow it. Call me a drama queen, but I had to spit it out. That, so far is the only food I've experienced that affects me that way. Quirky or weird or a drama queen?

3. If my nail snags I immediately have to file it. I've even been known to get up after the lights are out at night to file a pesky, snagging fingernail. Weird or quirky or a nuisance?

4. Hand lotion is my best friend. Lotion bottles are parked at various spots in my house, because every time I wash my hands I have to have lotion. Quirky or weird or skin as soft as a baby's hiney?

5. My other best friend is chapstick. And no, I'm not going to compare my lips to a baby's hiney! Weird or quirky?

6. NO OFFENSE COFFEE-LOVERS! I can't stand the taste of coffee or anything remotely tasting like coffee. But I love the smell. Weird or quirky or will you still be my friend even if I don't like coffee?!

Ok, I'm tagging anyone who wants to participate. If you've already done this one, could you send me a link? I would love to read them.

Oh...the answer to the quote is Runaway Bride.

My First Tag!

I've been tagged by Ronnica (Tale of a Kansas Girl) to state some personal things about myself. Thanks Ronnica, I look forward to getting to know you better too!

I've never done this before, so I hope I'm doing this right.

Let's see...rules first.
1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What I was doing 10 years ago: I was celebrating our 17th anniversary! March 22. Being a SAHM, home educating my--then--10 yr. old daughter.

Five things on my to-do list today:
1. Take 7 yr. old daughter to library...and return some...ahem...overdue books...my bad!
2. Go to CVS and snag some deals.
3. I suppose I should clean some...now I'm committed
4. Help my daughter rearrange her bedroom to fit a hand-me-down desk from big sis.
5. Change sheets...my husband pulled the sheet up and RIIIPPPPPP! Tore 10" across the top, then daughter took it upon herself to tear the top completely off. All this right after we turned out the lights. We woke up the next morning with a bunches of thread clinging to us. Yep...time to change those sheets.

Snacks I enjoy:
Of course, #1 is dark chocolate
Homemade baked corn tortilla chips
At Easter, those malted milk speckled eggs--Yum!
Wendy's or McDonalds french fries--every once in awhile
I know there are more, but I probably won't think of them until I'm reaching for it.

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Wow! Seriously, give, give, give!
Of course, get out of debt.
Pay off all of my family's debt.
Make sure parents are secure
Travel more--not necessarily to exotic places but being able to visit with family and friends who live in other places, until they get sick of us!

Three of my bad habits:
1. My time-management skills are lacking. The stress that comes with the 'whew, just made it in the knick of time' kind of management. Piddling around and waiting until the last minute, then rushing to make it somewhere on time.
2. Lack of steady exercise regimen...doing better though!
3. Not keeping my house as clean as I should...not a slob, yet not a perfectionist...just know I can do better.

Five places I have lived: Only 4 for me.
Pueblo, CO--born and raised
Wichita Falls, TX
Fowler, CO--30 miles east of Pueblo
Flagstaff, AZ--current

Five jobs I've had:
1. Maker of Dentures! Don't know the official name, but did the first few steps in the denture-making process.
2. Dunkin Donuts--I'll NEVER eat another one!
The following three while having the privilege of home-educating our daughters:
3. Cashier at Walmart
4. Stocking Hallmark cards at two Safeway stores.
5. Currently housecleaning the rental pool at an exclusive golf resort. God's blessing for sure!

Five people I want to know more about (a nice way of saying TAG!):

1. LeAnn

If you all would like to humor me, thanks ahead of time. (I know with meme's there's what seems like 'so much to do...so little time!')
