Eulogy for my mixed-up friend

One of my good and faithful friends
has recently passed on into Vintage Glory.
She was with us from the time
we walked down the aisle nearly 28 years ago.
~~~~~~~~~~
My beloved
Harvest Gold
Electric Hand Mixer
~~~~~~~~~~

Her's was a quiet passing--just quit turning,
but kindly waited until after Thanksgiving.
She was never one to stir up trouble,
but if you egged her on,
by golly,
you just might get creamed.
She definitely knew
how to get things whipped into shape.
She blended in so well.
She was wealthy & wise--
she really knew how to work the dough.
She beat all odds by mixing this long,
but, alas, she knew
when it was her time to fold.
~~~~~~~~~~
She leaves behind
her identical twin beaters,
Lil' Licky & Lil' Sticky
They took many lickin's
but just kept on mixin'.
More sweeter kids you'll never see,
& so in sync with each other.
~~~~~~~~~~
Preceding her across that
Great Betty*Crocker Divide
were her fellow kitchen-mates,
Avocado Green Blender,
Coppertone Brown Oven &
Almond Can Opener.
~~~~~~~~~~
You will be sorely mixed.
In lieu of flours,
donations can be made to
The Brenda Needs a New Mixer Fund
~~~~~~~~~~

Better yet,
I'll just ask Santa for one!

~~~~~~~~~~
OT here, isn't that the coolest Chenille pillow with ball fringe in the pic?
It's All I know I'm cheesy Good!
  8. I am sorry the mixer went kaput but this post was hysterical! I felt the same way about my hand mixer when it 'quit turning'.
    I have a macdaddy mixer now but i do still miss my little mixer buddy.
