Randomosity #2

I'm back from my unintentional blog break.

Sunny and Grace had a special evening at the first Chick-fil-a Father-Daughter dinner. A section of the food court in the mall was sectioned off. The waiters wore tuxedos and escorted them to their table, after giving each girl a yellow rose. They ate a Chick-fil-a sandwich with choice of waffle fries or salad. (Grace's waiter was pleasantly surprised that she ordered salad.) For dessert they were each given a giant chocolate-covered strawberry. They dined to Disney music performed by a professional violinist. Then before the evening was over their picture was taken. Sunny and Grace both enjoyed their 'date'.

I ate alone
reading a book
in the truck
in the parking lot of the mall
because I wasn't invited

;)

I have been enjoying, as usual, my thrift shopping, finding some great bargains that I'll be using in my crafting projects.
Does anyone else love old, vintage patterns?

I had a goal of getting to my forever weight by mid-June. I don't think I'm going to make it, but I have lost a couple more pounds.
Only eight to go

Sunny passed his Mec4 test. Yay! Now he is studying for his plumbing license with the goal of taking the test in July.
One step at a time

Grace will be nine years old next Tuesday. Yesterday, I mentioned to her that "today was my due date, but you decided to come eight days late". She asked me how I knew when I was pregnant. I told her I took a pregnancy test. She says, "Oh ya, that's where you pee on a stick."
Moving right along...

Chelsie is doing well up in Seattle getting settled in her new home she's sharing with three other gals.
Learning to get along with others is a life long experience, isn't it?

I look forward to getting around again and visiting you all.
You've been missed

I'm still working on my Etsy store as well as a new blog with my artsy-fartsy ideas. Just trying out different avenues.
No, this blog isn't going to turn into a constant sales pitch

Myrtle loves to have her hiney scratched. When she's done on one side, she gets up and comes back around for the other side.
Crazy dog

The Brownie troop Grace is involved in had a field trip to a sports facility that includes foam pits, bungie cords, and trampolines. They also enjoyed a nice pizza dinner in one of the party rooms. This was one of the rewards for their cookie sales proceedings.

The sanitarious-ness (yes, I know that's not a word) of the foam made me a little nervous, but I didn't allow my imagination to get the best of me.
And Grace got a nice, hot bath when we got home

A three-eyed picture is what I get when I try and take the pic myself!

It's All Break Time is Over Good!

Oh, and HE went back to Oregon for good!

((Love you, Chels!))

  2. News, news, & more news!!! The pictures of Grace are precious but where is the picture of Sunny & Grace at the Chic banquet? What a cute, and very special idea and time for Fathers and Daughters. Congrats on Sunny passing the test and moving ahead toward the other :o)

Can't wait to see your Etsy shop!!!

Have missed you so. Truly hope you're back to making it "all good" for us with your blogs.

  4. The father daughter date is such a good idea.

Only the top bit of the photo where Grace is lying in the sponges stuck out while I read, it looked like sweets to me.

Etsy sounds like a lot of work

  5. Such fun randomness - I love randomness, it's what I do best!

So much to comment on - let's see. Oh, yes, those play places - germ city!!

Glad HE went back to Oregon for good!

I'm at 35 pounds lost - 6 pounds from goal - so exciting!

Love the date night - love Chic Fil A, not so much for the food, but for their testimony to the world. I would have enjoyed sitting in the car reading the book - or sitting somewhere else reading while I ate!

Thanks for stopping by my incredible week-end story!

  6. The father-daughter dinner sounds wonderful!

I like some occasional time alone -- though I probably would've stayed home rather than the parking lot. :-) My family feels bad if they all go off and leave me alone and I keep trying to tell them it's ok. Now, if it happened too often, that would be another thing!

You're doing great at the weight loss.

It's funny how much kids pick up on. Once I had my youngest son with me at a quick stop in the store, and one of the things I needed was once-a-month supplies. He'd been shopping with me since he was a baby, but it had been a long time -- lately he's preferred to stay home And an item that he might not notice in a big cart full of things might be noticed when there are just two or three. So I stopped at that aisle trying to find the kind I used amidst all the varieties, and he just said, "You use Stay-free, don't you?" I just said, "Um, yeah...," got what I needed, and we went on. I have no idea if he knew what they were for -- I didn't ask! I'm letting his dad handle those questions!

I am glad I am not the only mom who worries about sanitariness. My daughter-in-law is the same way, so I know we won't have differences of opinions on that issue!

    I'm glad "HE" moved away!

  7. I LOVE old vintage patterns and prints! My oldest daughter looks distinctly UN-American and would look awesome in vintage clothes, but I haven't found any that are affordable yet.

Nice update and thanks for stopping by my blog!

  8. What a neat daddy daughter outing.
Sorry you couldn't go! But I bet you enjoyed time reading, alone, in the quiet.

Glad Chelsie is doing well. Tell her we said hi and we love her!

Can't wait to see the new Etsy store!

7 pounds, you'll be there soon! You look great!

  9. I have not been a good blogging friend. Too much I am interested in accomplishing to spend much time on the computer.

Now that you have one out of the house you need to have another to take her place :-) :-) :-)

Let me know what your etsy place is, name? how to find you? I would like to see what you have been doing.

  11. I know you had a great time with your quiet reading in the car. At least I sure would have if I had been the mom.
Can't wait for the Etsy store to open and Putz needs a course in what that is all about I think.
