Kitchen pics…finally…No, really!

Here you have it folks, the pictures everyones been waiting for.  I’m sure you’ve all been sitting on the edge of your seats right?
These are the before/after of my kitchen.

The spice shelf was is an antique wooden tool box that belonged to Sunny’s dad.  I found another one just like it that will go to the right of it and hung vertically.
On the top shelf is Sal and Pepe my s & p shakers.  I’ve tried hooking them up with Jennifer’s traveling Geisha, しかし取引はなしです (but no deal)!
The long stick above the coffee mugs is a perfectly chippy chair rung my sis found down by the river—love it!
My aunt found the retro coffee mugs after hearing me gripe about the 70’s kitchen.  They fit perfectly!

This candle holder houses my vintage copper measuring spoons.  I like that the scoops are square.

I painted this dark paneling a butter yellow.  the paint chip said Warmed Honey…can’t figure that one out.
Because of lack of cupboard space we brought in 2 white cupboards.  I was thinking of putting glass knobs on them.  And, conveniently, Hobby*Lobby has their knobs on sale 1/2 off this week!
The white pitchers on top of the cupboard I found at a yard sale for…drum roll…$1.00 a piece.

I like unique birdhouses.  The church one is extra special because my daughter gave me that one for my birthday one year.
On the hooks below the shelf are my childhood aprons an aunt made for me.
When I was a young girl, my elderly neighbor asked me if I’d help her with a little dusting.  As payment, she let me pick something from some stuff she was getting rid of.  I picked the hand-painted little girl figurine.  It’s from Crews-Beggs.  Not valuable, but definitely sentimental.
The meat grinder is home to a little pie bird in it’s shredded-paper nest.

100_8920Love the old milk crate I got last summer for $1.00.  Makes a nice home for odds and ends.
The toy train was Sunny’s.
Don’t you love the old teal-colored enamel coffee pot?
100_8924As you can see, I have a small collection of metal strainers.  That’s probably not going to be their permanent home.  I saw on another blog how you can put battery operated twinkle lights in them and hang them on the wall.  Problem is I don’t have anymore wall space to put them.  I’ll figure something out. 100_8921 This is a glass shelf above the sink.  The old miniature cast iron stove on the left was a sample stove the salesman would use when selling his wares.

I love this old bank of windows.  Fun story:  The valance was one really long piece I found at Good*will for 75% off.  I bought it before we ever moved here, but since I’m partial to yellow I figured I’d find a place for it someday.  It couldn’t fit more perfectly.  All I had to do was cut it in half.

I didn’t purposely match the paint colors with the ungodly 70’s floor, but hey, it works!
There you have it.
It’s All I can live with it now Good!
