Hodgepodge fun!

Hodgepodgebutton

1. George Washington-Abraham Lincoln-Thomas Jefferson...who would you most like to meet and why?

Tough question, but out of the three I’m going with good ol’ Abe.  For starters my daughter, who is 10, has been intrigued with Abraham Lincoln ever since she learned he is a distant relative of hers on Sunny’s side.  She has enjoyed studying about him and has devoured the American Girl Addy books about slavery, and other historical children’s novels as well as bios.

2. What's your favorite chain restaurant?

In N Out Burger hands down!  And rumor has it they might be coming to Denver!  Oh please, oh please!

3. I spied this question on the Bears at Home blog last week and she gave me permission to steal borrow it-

When you look back on your life, do you imagine you'll think about the goals you failed to meet with regret? Or will you look at what you accomplished and say: it was good?

Well, since my blog name is ‘It’s All Good!’ I’m going with what I’ve accomplished.  Sure there were goals that weren’t met followed by disappointment, but regrets do no good for anyone other that learning from them and moving on.

4. Grapefruit-take 'em or leave 'em? Given the choice between an orange and a grapefruit which would you choose? Would you prefer it served as is or squeezed into juice?

I like fresh-juiced grapefruit, but drizzling some honey on half of grapefruit is delicious especially if you let it set overnight in the fridge.  When we lived in Flagstaff, AZ friends and family would bring fresh picked grapefruit up from the the Phoenix valley.  Now that we’re in Colorado it’s just not the same.  I know it’s not as fresh because it travels farther and it’s way more expensive than free!

5. When was the last time you cleaned out a closet? Is there a closet in your home that currently needs cleaning? What are you waiting for?

Does the top shelf of the closet count?   I did that a couple weeks ago.  I have a deep 3-shelf type pantry that desperately needs culled out and cleaned.  I’m waiting for someone else to do it for me!

6. You get to have lunch with three famous people...who would you like to see round your table?

Well since I’d like to meet Abe Lincoln, I think it would be neat to have him, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush in the mix.

7. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your ability to parallel park?

10 if there’s no cars in front of or in back of me!  No, seriously, I’m pretty good except for the range of motion in my neck, so I’d say a 7.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I was wondering what to talk about here besides the weather this time.  Then material presented itself in the story my daughter relayed to me tonight about her Valentine’s Day outing today with her Gramies.

I had a hair app’t so Grace went with her Gramies to WalMart.  They had been in the store for a few minutes when a couple behind them begins walking faster and approaching them rather quickly.  Grace noticed and was getting a little nervous.  She was about to say something to her Gramies, but the lady caught up and got right beside my MIL and whispers loudly, “Ma’am, your skirt is tucked into your slip!” (The man had discreetly ‘slipped’ down another aisle.)  Thankfully my MIL has a wonderful sense of humor and was filled with gratitude.  The lady stayed right in there behind her while she fixed her problem--and Grace went into a spasm of giggles!

While Grace is proceeding to tell me the story, she starts putting two and two together as her hindsight kicks in and she is remembering an odd/shocked look on the male greeter’s face as he’s looking at Gramies backside entering the store!   By then Grace is acting it all out for me, and now I’m laughing my head off!  A very memorable Valentine’s Day for Grace, though it had nothing to do with hearts!

(Ah, the joys of Mother-in-law ammo! )

It’s All Got Your Back(side) Good!

  17. My son raved about In-and-Out when he spent several summers in CA. I wonder why they don't have them on the East coast?

That was so kind of that couple -- they way they handled the whole thing is commendable.
