Weddings are such awesome occasions! My brother, Jon, met Vicki, a wonderfully Godly woman, a couple of years ago. She is perfect for him. The wedding was beautiful as most weddings are, but there was something special about this one for me. I've never attended a wedding where communion was served together as a family. To back up, both had been previously married and each has three children. 4 of the kids are still at home. Because of their backgrounds, they aren't going into this marriage lightly, and have listened and heeded wise counsel before making this huge commitment. Back to communion...before they said their vows, the pastor served communion to Jon & Vicki and then Jon, in turn, gathered their children around, and while a beautiful song was playing, privately served his new family communion. This action alone just confirmed to me that they really understood the seriousness of this union. Our prayers are that they always remember their vows, and that their love for God and each other will help them weather any storms they might encounter.

Jon & Vicki, We now pronounce you man and wife!

And YAY I have another sister!

It's All Good!

  1. Here's to the new Bride and Groom.and the fact that you have a new sister helps as well. I rase my glass of soda to them.(it and coffee and tea are the strongest stuff I drink now a days.)

  2. Let's toast to the bride and groom. They look so happy and you're right, the communion as a family is so touching. God does bring us our mates, doesn't he.

    Hugs,
    LeAnn :)

  3. Hi, Brenda
Welcome home from what sounds like a wonderful weekend at your brother's wedding. What a beautiful thing for them to receive communion as a family. I pray that God will bless them and just give them a wonderful life as "one".
I, too, have a siter-in-law who has always been more like a sister to me than a sister-in-law. I love her so much and am thankful to God that my brother had the good sense to marry her!
    Have a good day today.
    :) Brenda

  8. What a wonderful way to start your life and a Godly example to those kiddos. The best was to show His love is to serve them- just an example of serving with communion. Wish them many happy years, and a quick blending together.
