Accountability Time For Me!

It's time. These 12-15 lbs. have been sticking to me like gum on the bottom of a shoe. ANNOYING! I am now seriously making a commitment to finally getting the weight off. For my health's sake. For my family's sake. This is not a vain thing. I am an 'older' mom. I want to live a very long, healthy life for my girls. I want to live to see my grandchildren. And, most importantly, I want to honor God by taking care of the body He gave me.
This is where I'm at: First, we eat healthy food for the most part. I believe, for me, it is a portion-control issue. A friend has given me a Weight Watcher's point chart. I believe this will help me with my portions. Secondly, for exercise I have begun walking on the treadmill and doing the Total Gym.
I have installed my weight-loss ticker at the top of my blog for all my blogging buddies to see. (Thank you Betty for helping me install it.)
And lastly, I can do all things through Christ Jesus Who gives me strength (Phil. 4:13).
I'm going to weigh-in on Mondays. Hopefully that ticker up above will start moving in the right direction.

It's All ACCOUNTABILITY Good!

  1. Way to put it out there. That will help in the accountablity part I think. When we declare it openly and publicly, it somehow makes it easier to be motivated. Good for you. Sounds like between your good friends and the Lord, you should do just great. Way to go.

  2. Hmmm... I like this! I've been telling myself to lose 15 pounds for years. I'm tired of thinking about it! Maybe I'll add a counter too. Check with me on Monday. I'll be praying with you for victory! Blessings... Polly

  3. Take it from a person who has been doing WW for the past 1 1/2 years. I had lost a total of 38 but have gained back almost 15, so I too am back at it. I have got to start walking. It is so good for you and also drink lots of water, I have gotten off of that. It is hard but I felt so much better so I have got to get back on track. Good Luck Brenda. You can do it.

    Hugs,
    LeAnn :)

  4. I'm glad I could help you, Brenda. Did I mention to you that I am counting WW points? Weight didn't start coming off until I starting keep up with points. I don't go to the meetings, and I'm doing just fine without those.

For me, it helps me to weigh myself every day. I don't change my ticker until I am down 2 pounds from what the present reading is saying. Like right now it has been 142 for a few weeks. That's because I went on vacation and gained 6 pounds. Now it's taking me forever to get that 6 pounds off.

I'm proud of you for making yourself accountable to all your blogger friends. I think it will help give you an incentive.

  5. Hi, Brenda! Linked to you from Pink Icing on the Cake. What an uplifting blog! It was fun to read.

Much success kicking those last LBS out the door FOR GOOD! You're an inspiration to all of us to stay on our toes. HOWEVER! You mustn't give up dark chocolate -- it's an antioxidant, you know. Not one bit different than munching on a carrot, at least to my twisted way of thinking. And GOBS tastier! :-)))

Added you to my faves and will be cheering while watching your counter tick down!

    Warmest regards, Ronda

  6. I pray for your success. It's not easy losing those last few pounds, but you will succeed. You seem to have the right attitude.

  7. Brenda,
Good luck on the weight loss. I know from experience how hard it is and I also know that Weight Watchers is the easiest plan to live with. I'll be praying for you, and I know that God will help you! Have a great weekend...oh, and give that header change a try. I'm pretty sure the instructions I gave you are correct.
    :) Brenda

  8. Hi, I found my way here from Jennifer at Dust Bunny Hostage. I read through your posts and really enjoyed my visit. I had lost weight with Weight Watchers and it is a great way to track portion control; that has always been my problem as well. Hang in there, it works!

  9. Brenda, you CAN do it! I am behind you 100%. And I am in it with you too! I love that you are using scripture as motivation. How can you go wrong with that?

    Be blessed.

  10. Hi, Brenda! Thanks for popping by! Just keep drawing those stick figures -- the hand that is drawing stick figures is not eating, and thus is well on its way to becoming more like a stick figure itself. :-))) Ronda
