2011 Recap Countdown

Go grab yourself a cup of coffee, some chocolate or any other form of stimulation of choice, because I guarantee this post won’t have you sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

You’ll find that we didn’t win the lottery, didn’t go on any exotic (or any vacations for that matter, but see #3), didn’t make any headlines in the papers (no news is good news, right?).

What you will find is a family who is loving exactly where we are in every sense of the word.  (I’m sure I’ve missed some things that my brain isn’t registering at the moment.)

#10 Having our first garden.

#9 A new upright freezer to be able to store our garden bounty and room for once-a-month-cooking freezer meals.

#8 Thrifting fun.

That will never end no matter what year!

#7 Experiencing community in our small town of 1200 people.

#5 Turning 50

Not a bad thing except for the “M” word, which isn’t as bad as I’ve been led to believe—for me anyhow.

#4 Walking in closer fellowship with the Lord

Always a good thing!

#3  WE’RE DEBT FREE!

Well, credit card and truck debt anyway.  The feeling after paying off that last credit card was amazing!

#2 Chelsie’s home!

We’re happy to have Chels living back here in Colorado after being up near Seattle the past two years.   (((Chels)))

#1 Celebrating 30 years of marriage.

In this day and age 30 years is a miracle.  I’m blessed because I’m married to my best friend!

If you have made it to this line…you get a star for perseverance!

{And if you really paid attention, you’ll find that #6 is missing, which I didn’t notice myself until after posting.  Oh well, my brain is tired.  I’m just gonna leave it as is!}

It’s All a year in the life of the Eddys Good!

  5. Did you call Dave Ramsey and do the "WE'RE DEBT FREE" yell?

  6. We are two years behind y'all on the anniversary- and you're right, it's rare anymore! No matter how irritated I get with the husband though, I can't imagine life without him!

The debt free part I am envious of! But a huge congrats for that too! Hard work paying off!

  7. Sounds like a very good year for you. It's been a challenging one for us, and we're looking forward to some resolution to some of the "issues" in 2012! We've been debt free for awhile and it is a wonderful feeling - except then we had to start helping our kids. One of these days . . . !

Yes, the twins do appear to both be lefties - but I was looking back at those pictures I posted and the one on the Leapsters, they were both writing with right hands. They seem to be ambidextrous.

  8. What a wonderful act of kindness! We had some amazing blessings poured on us during my husband 3-year unemployment in the late 90s, so I can relate. Also, loved your random. I was thinking of doing something like this, but my brain wasn't having any of that. =D

  9. It sounds like a wonderful year! Thanks for keeping up with me...I have decided that I still need to keep track of life as it is moving so fast. So happy you are doing well and I am right behind you on that whole turning 50 thing. :)

    Happy New Year!
