Chomping at the Bit

Not too much exciting news to tell today, other than the fact that IT"S JUNE!, and we are recuperating from a yard sale we had over the weekend. I haven't had a yard sale in years, so I forgot about the effort it takes to get it done. But we fared pretty well, especially our daughter, considering we live on an out-of-the-way hillside in a very eclectic neighborhood--from nicer new construction to lower income apartments housing nationals.

The one thing I was amazed at was the fact that not one person dickered with me on prices. They either bought something or they didn't, but no price haggling. Actually it was sort of refreshing. Nothing peeves me more than when someone haggles over a 50 cent item.

So, this weekend we cleaned out a lot of clutter, and after a Good*Will run today, we consider this the beginning of our plan and preparation to move back to our home state, beautiful Colorado! We're shooting for next summer, if all goes well and as planned, and by the grace of God--and being in real estate we need a lot of grace!

We will be moving to Colorado Springs, which is at the base of Pikes Peak. I have my dad, mom, mother-in-law, one sister, three brothers (and of course all of their families), my Aunt and cousin and my best friend who all live within 1 1/2 hours from there!

One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 118:24--This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I choose to be content and rejoice in every day the Lord has made. Even more so when we're 'chomping at the bit' to get back home to Colorado and at the same time making sure our 20 yr. old is settled in where she needs to be.
Happy Summer to everyone!

It's All COLORADO Good!

  1. Good luck with everything and I hope all of it works out as you hope. It sounds as though your ready. You did alot to get prepared. I love your scripture. Its perfect.. Take Care Brenda and have a great week.

  2. Good to see ya post, I love that picture at the top, is that Colorado? I have never been to Colorado but I'd like to go. Someday I will go places I have never been. I'm sure it will be a blessing to be near loved ones!
    Be blessed!

  3. Hi Brenda(:) I tagged ya..Hugs Patty

  4. sounds like you had an interesting weekend.I hope you are haveing a great Day,That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  5. Hi Brenda,

I'm glad you had a successful yard sale. I had one last November, and I didn't have much luck at all. Come to find out it was half off on everything in the store at our local Goodwill. Oh well, I'll know next time.

Colorado is beautiful. We've been to Pikes Peak and to Aspen. Also we went to the capitol of Colorado last year when we were on our trip to Yellowstone. Can't think of the name of the city right now, having a senior moment, lol.

    Have a good week.

  6. Sounds like you had a good yard sale. I think about having one every once in a while, and then I come to my senses and realize I can't bring myself to part with any of my junk! lol
I hope your family gets to go back home; if it's what God has in store for you, then you know it will all work out. I'll br praying with you.
Have a great week! :) Brenda, The Other One (lol)

  7. HI Brenda..
I did get the Comment thing going thanks alot for the tip..
And you don't have to do the tag game over again I just liked you so I tagged ya .. no problem at all if you don't do it..You sound so busy ..but glad your biz is working for you..hugs for now Patty

  8. The last yard sale I had was about 10 years ago, maybe even longer. I made about $20 and I decided then and there that I would never have another one. It wasn't worth $20 to gather and price everything, haul it out and set it up, then have to haul it back inside and do away with everything that didn't sell. I'm just not in a good place for them.

Good luck in getting set up to move back to CO. I can't imagine living so far away from my family. I've never lived more than 5 miles from where I was born, and all my sisters and their families live within 15 miles of me now. 2 Of them live in our hometown and 2 live about 15 miles from the other 3.

It's not about location for me, though. Home is where your family and friends are, not where you live.

Have a good rest of your week, Brenda. :o)

    Love and hugs,

  9. Yard sales are tiring, but it sounds like it went well. Colorado is beautiful from all the pictures I've seen.

  10. It's so good to clean things out and get rid of stuff so that it is out of your way and out of sight! Plus when you get money for it, that is even better! Good luck with your plans to move

  11. It does feel good to purge, doesn't it???

In addition to family, you have another friend in Colorado! How exciting that you may be moving back!

  12. Wow, it's official now sis. Can't back out on me. : ) Can't wait for our first lunch date just because.
Amber is trying to talk me into help her with a yard sale later in the summer. I will probably help with kids while she runs the show.
    love, your little big sis.

  13. Can't wait till you get here! I am so excited you'll be living here! I haven't told Mariah yet because she won't be able to wait till next summer.
We will help i any way possible. I can look at some homes or price places. Anything to help.
sad to here Chelsie will stay there. But I'm proud of her for starting her own buisiness. How awsome!

  14. so do all of you, your sister, your mom and you live in COLORADO//?
